Captain Olimar enters the fray!
Smash Bros. and Pikmin fans alike have been pleading for Captain Olimar’s inclusion in a Smash Bros. game ever since his debut in Pikmin for the GameCube. Although Olimar and his Pikmin allies appeared in trophy form for Melee, they finally will be able to join forces and duke it out as playable characters for Brawl.
Obviously, Olimar’s attacks seem to be centered around utilizing the Pikmin forces that follow him into battle. Unfortunately, not much else is know about the specifics of Olimar’s move set at this point, so we will just have to sit tight and wait patiently for more details.

Nice, I only ever played the Pikmin games when they were on display at McDonald’s way back. But he could be a really cool character.
Dude your seriously missing out. You should pickup Pikimin 2, you can find it cheap now. Wow I also feel old, cause I don’t feel like Pikmin is old enough to be described as “way back”.
I’m willing to bet that Olimar will not be the last character we hear about before the game debuts. If all the announced characters are readily available — that is, not unlockables — then Nintendo will announced at least one more. Don’t forget that Zero Suit Samus won’t get her own slot on the character select screen. Thus, we only have 23 slots for announced characters, and it seems odd to start with an odd number.
On that subject, I’ll bet we’ll see a profile for Sheik in the not-to-distant future.
at Billie: Yeah, I guess it really isn’t all that long ago.. I’ll definitely keep it on the radar whenever I’m looking for games.
at kidicarus222: True, I forgot about Sheik. I’m still holding out for some more third party characters. They must still have a big surprise waiting for us because we still have a ways to go before release.
Pikmin 3 confirmed.
