It all started the day before Thanksgiving, when the Food Network ran a Thanksgiving themed Iron Chef America special. To this day, the voice of Mark Dacascos (the chairman for Iron Chef America) echoes through my head when he announces the secret ingredient- “AUTUUUMN HARVEST!”
If you listen closely, you can hear the chairman announcing the secret ingredient for the new Wii game- “WII REMOTE WAAGGGLLE!”
Building off the success of the recent spin off reality series, The Next Iron Chef, which premiered to 3.3 million viewers on Food Network, licensee Destineer will release the Nintendo Wii Iron Chef America video game. Offering players an interactive experience where they can be an Iron Chef, the game will make its way to retail in 2Q08.
Aside from this announcement, little is known about the game, including whether or not a chairman will be included. If Dacascos is unable to provide his voice for the game, I insist that the game supports three players. Two for the actual competitors, and then the third player can play the chairman.
