Hudson chooses “Wii Chess” as the Nintendo game to beat

Hudson has revealed their Wi-Fi Taiou Genzen Table Games for the Wii, and it puts Nintendo’s own Wii Chess to shame. It’s due out in 2008 and brings to the table games like chess, backgammon, contract bridge, go, hana-awase, shogi, daifugo, mah-jongg, renju, and reversi. You can play online and offline, with a friend or with the computer, and if that’s not enough to get you exited, nearly 20 screens can be seen after the break.

Maybe Nintendo should just forgo Wii Chess and try releasing a Wii version of Mario’s Game Gallery. Not only is it a fuller game experience for all ages, but it’s got some history too. Apparently it was the first game ever to feature Charles Martinet as the voice of Mario.
