Inafune hasn’t been approached about Mega Man in Smash Bros. Brawl

How many of you were hoping the Blue Bomber is going to be in Brawl? I’m not as huge a Mega Man as some other members on our team here, but I probably wanted Mega Man in Super Smash Bros. Brawl more than any of them. Unfortunately, Keiji Inafune, dropped some disappointing news earlier this week speaking as a guest on one of Capcom’s game’s podcasts. Here’s what he had to say.

“Well, I really do love Super Smash Bros. It’s a great series…but, Nintendo hasn’t asked me yet if they can use Mega Man in their game. I’m still waiting…we have a little bit of time left, it’s not coming out for another few months. They might get around to asking us if we’d like to put Mega Man in Super Smash Bros. Maybe if somebody from Nintendo is listening to this podcast, they’ll give me a call.”

You know, they could have technically created his character and could simply officially add him at the request of Capcom, or maybe Nintendo has talked to Capcom and simply left Inafune out of the loop. I’m still hoping, but I advise everyone not to hold their breath anymore.

Are you kidding me? They didn’t even ASK him?

Goddamnit Nintendo, why doesn’t this surprise me at all…

Well, one character at a time.

Kojima approached Sakurai about having Snake in Brawl, but Sonic was a joint deal between Sega and Nintendo. Hopefully we’ll see more of those kinds of deals later on. Mega Man is probably the next in line for fan demands.
