UK Wii surplus sends eBay prices plummeting

071221ebaywii.jpgDid you take an economics class in high school? I sure did. Besides learning about the law of diminishing returns through over-sized shrimp (called “prawns” or something like that) and some random lessons about diamond shopping, I distinctly remember learning to draw a bunch of graphs. I recall drawing a bunch of these on the AP test and scoring very well, so I must have learned something, right?

No. It’s supply and demand. It’s common sense. The past weekend’s Wii shipment has boosted the number of consoles on eBay, at least in the UK. The over 7,000 units now on eBay means that systems that usually go for £230 are now only going for £147.

So much for all your get-rich-quick schemes, guys. That‘ll teach you to take advantage of people around Christmas.
