A little holiday treat for your iPods

I love OC ReMix. As a studying/practicing musician myself, it’s nice to see the video game community embrace the wonderful music in video games. I wanted to share with you is a little piece that’s been on my Christmas playlist for years now, and it’s called “Super Mario’s Sleigh Ride” and is performed by a group now called The OneUps.

If you’ve ever heard Leroy Anderson’s original, instrumental “Sleigh Ride,” you know it’s an orchestra classic. What The OneUps have done is they’ve created an arrangement that integrates various music from Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario World into a compositionally impressive Christmas medley, definitely worthy of your holiday playlist for this coming week.
