Before the Nintendo DS rolled around, the Game Boy was without a doubt the greatest handheld on the market. The folks over at Mash Mods have found an awesome way to combine the past with the present in their Game Boy Color mod, which is clearly inspired by the touch screen for the DS.
Obviously, it would be impossible to add touch screen functionality to past Game Boy titles without modifying the software, so the designers of this mod used a touch screen that has certain areas assigned to specific buttons. While it is true that this isn’t practical for all games, this still is a neat concept overall. Hit the jump for a diagram of the screen layout.
