Leading the pack of games recently reviewed from Famitsu, Kousoku Card Battle: Card Hero with a score of 36/40, and Final Fantasy IV with a score of 35/40 beat out every other game rated.
You might have missed Card Hero, we got a pile of media from Nintendo in October and it was shuffled amongst a huge amount of screens and other media. Remember that the Card Hero series has never found it’s way outside of Japan, and it’s been a while since the last iteration in the series, so here’s hoping for an NA and PAL release later on.
Also, check after the break for a breakdown of the review of Final Fantasy IV translated by duckroll from NeoGAF.
- Changes are on a massively different scale than the GBA port
- 3D reworking makes it seem almost a different game
- Lower-screen map is very easy to read
- Upgrades in the event direction are great
- Variety introduced in upgrading characters through the ‘Decant Ability’ is really good
- New episodes added, but the main plot is roughly the same
- Auto-Battle makes combat simple
- Change of viewpoint for boss battles increases the effect
- “Portica”-raising minigames are also on there.
