Dragon Quest IV remake surpasses the million mark

071215dqlogo.jpgThe reason Square Enix can get away with so many remakes and rereleases and still sell millions of copies of every single one is that they do it right. Sure, you want the occasional new, original game, but if as much effort were put into other remakes as SE has put into Final Fantasy III and Dragon Quest IV, I’m sure less people would complain.

Dragon Quest IV, released just over three weeks in Japan, has already sold over a million copies. A third of that million came on the first day of availability. Now that’s a popular remake. Hopefully Japanese RPG fans are doing nothing but playing through the game right now, as hot on the heels of this remake is another one – Final Fantasy IV launches in Japan this coming Thursday, with remakes of Dragon Quest V and VI still on the way before the brand new Dragon Quest IX hits.
