Mario, Toad, Link, and Mega Man rock the (gingerbread) house
With the typical Chicago winter in full effect, I find myself stuck inside on most nights. Since my Wii is out of commission and I wasn’t feeling Rock Band last night, we decided to try our hands at gingerbread house creation.
Thirty minutes into the building process, one thing was painfully clear: the packaged candy in these gingerbread kits are certainly not 8-bit design friendly. Think about that the next time you attempt to build a character out of Spree, heart-shaped gumdrops, gumballs, and tiny dotted candy that I am still trying to decipher.
Now jump, jump, jump over the break for more photos.
For the record, the gingerbread doesn’t taste that great, but the gumdrops are fabulous.

Hmm, my family generally does a gingerbread house.. Maybe I can add some videogaming culture to it..
I especially like the Goomba-shaped Mario. :P
I feel really sorry for Toad in that last picture. Poor guy never saw it coming… :(
I have that same tanooki shirt….oh yeah why is your Wii out of commission?
My Wii has a disc read error for every game. It’s odd, but it will be on its way to NOA quite shortly for free repair!
Yeah it’s sad when you have to send in the Wii. My first unit had the overheating GPU pixelation problem.
NOM NOM NOM.
