So here we are, a year after the Wii and PS3 launches and two after the 360 launch… The Wii has overtaken the 360 in worldwide sales and nearly has a lead over the PS3 in the octuple digits (over ten mil) while the PS3 itself is still inching toward that 10mil mark. The Wii, being produced at 1.8 million units per month and expected to increase in production rate sometime after the new year, is predicted to be in shortages until at least April. Europe has pulled Wii ads so not to add to the hype. Looks like Nintendo’s on fire, hm?
Not for long, says Screen Digest. Against all odds, the analyst is still predicting the Wii’s lead in this generation’s console war will diminish to almost nothing by 2011, as the rival platform from Sony is expected to outsell Nintendo’s little box from here on out.
