Our friends over at Nintencast emailed Red Octane inquiring about downloadable content for Guitar Hero III on the Wii. Surprisingly, Red Octane responded with an answer that provided quite a bit of good news:

Thank you for writing us.

Downloadable content for the Wii is something we are working very hard on getting in place for the new year. There is no definite timetable in place but we are hoping it will be soon.

There is no word on whether we will be getting some song packs (yay!) or just some extra guitars (boo!). It’s a good thing that I’ve held off on my review for the game until this week (see below for the reason why), because the lack of DLC was going to hurt the score quite a bit.
