If Mario and Luigi had sisters, what would they be like? Apparently Nintendo might have had the intention of letting you find out in the early 90s. The image below is from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and reveals that NOA once filed a trademark for “Super Mario Sisters” on February 27, 1990 before abandoning it on December 5, 1991. We’ll probably never know if the project ever materialized beyond a simple filing, but it’d be fun to speculate!
