Own a widescreen TV? I just joined your ranks earlier this year, and I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy playing games in 4:3 as much again. Nintendo, for the most part, has embraced widescreen formats in their games, and Brawl will be no different. You can see below what a difference you’ll get if you play on a widescreen television. Underneath are some screens of the game’s display settings where you can set the game to widescreen mode. If you’re not sure what kind of TV you have, there’s a blue circle in the background that should be a perfect circle if you’re on the right mode. The last two show the game in the wrong mode.
Unfortunately, I won’t be home when Brawl comes out, so unless I want to lug a new TV to school, this will have to wait until spring break for me. Boo.
