Smash Bros. site updates with Controls

When Sakurai revealed in a previous update that Brawl would allow players to customize and save their controller configurations, he hinted that the development team was hoping that players would also be able to save these configurations on their Wii remotes and easily use them on other Wii consoles. As of this morning, this convenient feature has been officially confirmed. Players will now be able to save their configurations for all four controllers, (GameCube, Wii Remote, Classic, and Nunchuck), under their name, which can be transfered and stored on a Wii remote.

In addition to this, we also learn that the Nunchuck configuration will include some optional motion control in the form of the Shake Smash. When using this control type, shaking the remote in a given direction will cause your character to perform a Smash Attack in that direction. While it certainly is exciting that motion controls have finally been added to Brawl, it will be interesting to see how the hardcore crowd will respond to this less-traditional style of play.
