360,000 copies of Dragon Quest IV sold on day one

Putting Super Mario Galaxy‘s first week sales of a quarter million to shame, Square Enix’s Dragon Quest IV remake on the Nintendo DS launched on Thursday, selling 360,000 units on the first day alone. There’s no way to know at the moment if the title could have sold even more had SE put out more copies, but there’s no denying that the game is already quickly on its way to becoming a million-seller.

Of course, Dragon Quest is huge in Japan. The rest of the world hasn’t learned to appreciate it yet. Are you looking forward to the game?

I’ll buy it on day one here. I had Dragon Warrior IV for the NES, and still consider it my favorite game that no one’s played. I’ve been waiting for a proper tribute to it for a VERY long time.

Dang I wasted many of hour playing the first one. I just remember how annoying it was to gain experience, but I loved it.
