The Smart Bomb from the Star Fox series has been confirmed for Brawl with today’s daily update. This powerful item can be picked up and thrown at enemies in order to inflict a massive amount of damage as the bomb’s explosive blast engulfs a large portion of the stage. We also learn that certain times when the bomb is thrown, it will not detonate right away. When this happens, players need to use extreme caution because it is impossible to tell exactly when the bomb will finally explode.

And in case you were wondering about that picture of the Electrode shown below, Sakurai also hints that in Brawl this Pokémon may occasionally stall momentarily before exploding, much like the Smart Bomb will from time to time.
