The Tanooki’s Daily Recap – November 19, 2007

No, no, I didn’t forget. Today marked the 1st birthday for everyone’s favorite Wii console. It’s just that week, you know? Yesterday was the 9th birthday for the Game Boy Color, which we posted about. What some of you may not have realized was that it was also the 6th anniversary for the nearly forgotten GameCube console. Today, of course, we celebrate the Wii. On Wednesday, it’s the Nintendo DS. Cakes for those three are shown above. Thanksgiving week just happens to be Nintendo’s launch week of choice these days!

Lots of news today. Some of the items below are items we missed over the last few days while I’ve been busy working on reviews for Radiant Dawn, Olympic Games, and Galaxy. The majority of it is from today, however, and what a day it’s been. It’s hard to pick the biggest news item of the day with so much going on, but I have to say: that Animal Crossing YTMND was quite moving. You should go watch it.

    Side note time!

The idea for the tanooki basically came from our 12 or so hours of Wii camping last year.

12 hours for you. I was in the parking lot about 4 hours earlier. :P

It still is one of my greatest memories of the past 10 years.

However, I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing…
