Analysts say new DS redesign is complete

071119dsmicro.jpgEvan Wilson, analyst for Pacific Crest Securities, has people. And his people saw the third iteration of the Nintendo DS is done and ready for production when the Big N gives the green light.

“Our contacts indicate that a refreshed DS is complete. It is thinner (it has no GBA port), has on-board storage, and larger screens. However, we do not expect a revamped Wii or DS until sales begin to tail off in all three major geographies.”

The three different Game Boy Advance units were each spaced 2 calendar years apart, give or take. 2008 would make sense for a redesigned Nintendo DS but… wouldn’t larger screens make the DS screens look pixelated? I don’t trust Evan’s people.

Unless the old games appear the same resolution, but with an empty pixel border, and newer games made for the new DS will be made to fit the new screen.

That would make sense, but then what about the people who have the old DS models and haven’t upgraded to the new one?
