NPD Group: October sales and figures
No surprises this month – Guitar Hero III, Phantom Hourglass, Wii Play, and Brain Age 2 were among the top ten selling software titles in the United States, and the Wii and Nintendo DS continue to be the hottest gaming platforms. We can all celebrate, however, as the existence of this report is thanks to Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft giving the OK for the NPD to release the figures publicly.
It should be noted, however, that this data does not contain any data from Toys ‘R’ Us stores. The NPD group adds and loses data from different chains all the time, reporting on almost two-thirds of major retailers in the United States, so the overall contour of the data shouldn’t be affected.
