Ubisoft hoping for Nintendo-like quality

There’s no denying that Nintendo games have a special polish that makes them stand out among all the other video games in that Walmart cabinet. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot explains the chain of events that are helping to expand their company and what should eventually lead to Ubisoft games mimicking the type of quality we fans have come to expect from Nintendo games.

“[Nintendo’s mass market strategy] is very profitable for Nintendo, and very profitable for all third-party publishers,” he said. “…Because [the strategy] is working, we create more product [for Nintendo platforms] and this will actually bring more people into the industry. The Wii is going to continue to do extremely well with no limit to growth.”

As a result, Ubisoft has between 400 and 500 developers focused on the Wii right now. Remember, though, it takes more than manpower to make a great game. It takes love and care. Aw.
