Each month, we post the top hardware and software sales numbers in the United States and Canada, courtesy of the numbers the NPD Group releases to the public. Starting with October’s data, we’ll be getting the abbreviated version – no more monthly hardware numbers, and only the sales for the top five software titles. If you want hardware totals, you’ll have to wait for the quarterly reports, as the NPD Group wants to save more data exclusively for the companies that pay the NPD Group money.
We’ll still be able to get any NPD figures that Nintendo releases, just keep in mind that Nintendo, like Sony and Microsoft, will spin the numbers to make them look good. Maybe we’ll start relying on VG Chartz data…
