Midnight Mario launch at the Nintendo World Store

Live near New York City? You’re the envy of all Nintendo fans outside of Japan, what with all those Nintendo goodies located in a single store. This Sunday night, there’s going to be an extra special goody available at the Nintendo World Store.

From 8pm to midnight on Sunday, Nintendo will be hosting a Mario Party (see what I did there?) at Rockefeller Plaza just outside their store. Once the clock strikes midnight, the store itself will be open to early purchases of Super Mario Galaxy, along with bonus coins for those that pre-ordered.

If you’re heading to the event, snap some pictures for us. We’d go, but we’ll be attending store launches in Chicago and Urbana, IL. See you all there!

No fair! I wish there was a Nintendo World store on the West Coast, possibly San Francisco!

News like this make me sad I moved to Israel.

Yeah, I see what you did. You took the line straight from the GAF thread you linked to.

I see what you did there. Yeah, living near the Nintendo World Store is definitely a luxury; I was there for the Phantom Hourglass launch.

So wait… is it just an early sale for people there that night, or is the game technically going on sale everywhere that monday as well? Video game release dates and when stores actually make them available for purchase always confuse me.

Video game release dates usually refer to a Monday, or a day before most stores have them in stock. Most stores have them in stock, therefore, on Tuesday. It’s really confusing, no doubt.
