Manhunt 2 is HDTV compatible

071105wiihd.jpgWhat’s this? Manhunt 2‘s Wii box reveals that the game is HDTV compatible? Did Nintendo make the Wii high-def when no one was looking?

Not quite. The Wii isn’t going to pump out a bajillion polygons at super-fine resolution anytime soon – it doesn’t have the power. It doesn’t even have the HDMI port. But at least now, Take-Two is reassuring gamers that if you do happen to have an HDTV, your games shouldn’t look like crap. Rejoice!

Thanks to Kuefler for the heads up.

Any word on the difference in picture quality?

You know, still haven’y picked up this game. I should do it sometime this week.

I may not play it much, we’ll see, but I just feel like gamers need to support a game like this, show people that there is a market for adult-only games, and that the videogame industry is growing up.

Also, if enough people buy the game, Jackie might run away, fearful for his life considering the fact that the game is now training an army of evil psycho-killers. ;)

True, remember that we are all “voting” with every dollar that we spend on a product. So we need to “vote” for Manhunt to let developers and other “groups” (Bad/Good), that we as gamers want games/genres like this to be available to us.

As for the EDTV/HDTV thing, I just “giggled” when I seen it then proceeded to play it. It doesn’t matter how you output the video (480i/480p), because Rockstar has artificial video noise for mood effects.
