During the third quarter, analysts at iSuppli reported that combined Wii and DS software sales totaled $1.2 billion, surpassing Sony’s $1 billion in worldwide software revenue across all three of its active platforms. This is the first time in a long while that Nintendo’s been able to accomplish this feat and take the collective software sales crown. For the fourth quarter, the Nintendo DS software alone is expected to reach $1.2 billion in software sales while the Wii software is expected to cap at $1.1 billion, of course due to the high volume of holiday shopping.
Kinda makes you think about how much smaller a fraction you now contribute to Nintendo’s revenues. You’re no longer needed to preach for Nintendo, you’re just like everybody else…
