Smash Bros. site updates with King Dedede’s Special Moves

King Dedede joins the Brawl cast with an original moveset, something which many Melee characters never received the dignity of having. His “Up” special move, called Super Dedede Jump, launches King Dedede high into the air. He’s vulnerable upon landing, so you can choose to tap down on the control stick for a heavy drop of the hammer. Dedede’s “Side” special move is called Waddle Dee Toss, and he’ll whip out a Waddle Dee (or, randomly, a Waddle Doo  or Gordo) that he can throw at enemies. They’ll wander the stage a little after you throw them.

Now here’s the interesting one: Jet Hammer. King Dedede’s hammer is actually mechanized for this game, and you can power up the jet by hold down and special attack button to unleash the power upon your foes. Unfortunately, the more it’s charged up, the more damage you cause to Dedede as well.

Smash Bros. DOJO!!

    A jet-powered hammer/mallet? Hahaha.

I was sure his attacks would be very similar to Kirby's (like in the Kirby games) but I'm glad they're cracking down on clones in Brawl. Half of the characters in Melee were clones and it was one of the few things that annoyed me in that game.
