RUMOR ALERT: Next Animal Crossing to go MMO?
According to the latest issue of Edge, the Wii version of Animal Crossing will go the massively multiplayer online route.
“A Japanese source has confirmed to Edge that the upcoming Wii iteration of Animal Crossing is set to be a social networking MMO.”
No other details were given, and of course, Nintendo has yet to confirm the rumor (or even remind us that Animal Crossing is in development). However, this rumor doesn’t seem too ludacris to accept, especially when it comes from one of the most prestigious gaming magazines in the world.
In fact, anything less than a massively multiplayer online experience for the next Animal Crossing would be a disappointment. It’s the next generation, baby.
Huge thanks to Robert for the tip!

I wouldn’t doubt it. It could even be Nintendo’s new ‘online community’ that they plan to announce early next year! =O
In that case, I expect the game for free.
