Backed by a $200 marketing campaign and the potential to sweep the entire market rather than just young males, the Wii console has turned Nintendo’s fortunes around, shaken the entire gaming industry, and penetrated into millions of homes across the globe. The success, according to the article, can be attributed to the Wii’s mass market appeal beyond the typical, traditional video games out there.
