Blast Works’ editor mode is a game in itself
The Tumiki Fighters inspired Wii game, Blast Works has an editor mode that is described as being incredibly deep and all-encompassing.
It all begins with the 3D ship editor, where by manipulating shapes, players can piece together just about anything their imagination can dream up. In our time with Blast Works, we saw everything from simple star fighters to incredibly intricate pirate ships featuring nearly 100 pieces. Would-be creators can also decide on their own hitbox and choose where the ship fires from, though the bullet patterns themselves aren’t up for edits. The editor itself isn’t regulated to just ship creation either, as anything made in the editor can stand in for any part of a level. So should you want to use your recreation of Yoshi as a boss instead of as your fighter, you can do that; you can even make him a part of the level background.
From the sounds of it, the editor mode may be the main reason to buy this game. Besides having solid gameplay dynamics, and an overall fun feel to the game, the editor mode seems to complete an otherwise bare-bones game. This should be a good one to keep an eye on.
