Pokémon Ranch for Nintendo’s WiiWare service may not look too visually appealing, but keep in mind these are titles we need to download and save in the Wii’s internal memory. The screens below remind us what we’ll need to live with for the time being until the Wii receives mass storage add-ons. Once you can look past the low polygon counts and poor textures, however, you get a truly useful application for your Pokémon and for the budget price that perhaps Battle Revolution should have been available for.
Pokémon Ranch will allow players to upload their little friends from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl to the Wii and use the WiiWare software to raise their Pokémon – sort of like a console-based Day Care. Hopefully we’ll be getting more information soon. Until then, you can check out four screens just past the break.
