The above image is fake. This news is not. Sonic the Hedgehog is officially a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Nintendo’s Japanese press conference spilled the beans early this morning, effectively taking the spotlight from Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake and his appearance in the Nintendo fighter. Sonic is currently only the second third-party character on the Brawl roster.
A trailer was shown at the conference, and while we don’t yet have a copy of that trailer, we know for sure that it shows Sonic transforming into Super Sonic. Final Smash, perhaps? Expect a Sonic update on the official Smash Bros. DOJO!! site sometime soon… maybe in an hour?
