Nintendo is crowned King of Games

Thanks to the casual gaming tsunami, and an avalanche of great hardcore titles this year from the big N, Nintendo has been declared the top video game publisher for the year.

The 5th annual countdown, which this year included a wide-ranging reputation survey alongside revenue, average review, and anonymous partner feedback, reveals a resurgent Nintendo taking the top spot from former four-time victor Electronic Arts.

This year’s winner Nintendo prevailed due to top marks for its game publishing in the reputation survey, alongside competitive revenue and average review score marks, leaving Electronic Arts in second place for the first time ever.

In years past, Electronic Arts has consecutively won the title, which might be disappointing considering the best games that EA put out are sport titles every year with little to no innovation or improvement. Rounding out the top five in the list are: EA, Activision, Ubisoft, and THQ.
