Nintendo returns to Harvey Norman

071005harveynorman.jpgHarvey Norman stores in Australia haven’t carried Nintendo products for quite some time now. In fact, the large retailer was unable to stock the Wii upon its highly anticipated arrival due to disputes with Nintendo. Of course, the second holiday season is crucial to a video game system’s lifetime success, and Nintendo knows it. For this reason, any differences have been worked out, and Harvey Norman now carries Nintendo games and hardware.

“We now have a good relationship and they are back in the Harvey Norman catalogue with the Nintendo Wii” — Rutland Smith, Harvey Norman GM

For those unfamiliar with the retailer, think of your similar types of stores. Imagine if Best Buy or Circuit City, or even the non-clothing department of Sears hadn’t carried Nintendo products, and now they did. That’s basically the boost Nintendo will be getting in Australia this holiday season, as they look to gobble up more market share.
