Walmart talks about Chibi Robo exclusive

071003plantatree.jpgSome of you had some dissatisfaction at the fact that Walmart-exclusive Chibi Robo: Park Patrol was being used to promote care for the earth and helping to provide a cleaner, greener environment. Here’s what Walmart had to say officially about the game being offered exclusively at their stores:

For the new Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol game for Nintendo DS, Nintendo partnered with Wal-Mart because of Wal-Mart’s strong environmental program and social giving campaign. Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol has an environmental theme, and we wanted to make sure that it received exposure among a broad audience of consumers as we continue to get more and more people interested in the world of video games.

Still feel the same way?

What the hell? That response makes me freaking sick.

    Yeah.. basically Nintendo is saying:

    “$$$”

I doubt Nintendo is going to score any kind of “Dough” from this campaign. Just based on my own personal experience, I tried to get the game at Wal-Mart 2 days in a row after the release date, but the darn employees don’t even know about the game, or where to even find it. It has already been proven for me difficult for me to find (Compared to just grabbing it at Best Buy or GameStop), and considering that nobody outside the “Hardcore Gamer” even know this IP exsists…its sales will be lackluster at best. How can you expect to sell a unknown game at only one store, when it is already hard to sell a well-known game at all stores? I’ve already opted to just buy from Wal-Mart online, but seriously, how many people are going to do that?
