Nintendo DS no longer allowed on Japanese planes
The airline pilots don’t want you to have fun.
Actually, no, it’s the Japanese transport ministry that decided wireless devices like the Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, wireless computer mice, and wireless headphones could potentially bother with the aircraft instruments. Verbatim, “electromagnetic waves emitted by the consoles have the ability to interfere with aircraft navigation systems and other devices.”
The law went into effect in Japan on Monday, and may or may not set precedent for other nations. Not all is lost for gamers, however, as handhelds that don’t send out wireless signals are still allowed. Still have the ol’ Game Boy Advance?
