Get comfy: Sixty new screens from NiGHTS
Now THIS is more like it. SEGA has released SIXTY new screens from the upcoming Wii title, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, and they definitely look a lot more polished than any previous shots from the game. We’re not in jaggie-topia anymore!
A lot of criticism has been made to the game for looking very last-gen in the graphical department and for not really differentiating from the original Saturn game by not implementing motion control. SEGA has plenty riding on this game, since their recent track record hasn’t been so hot, and they’re now tackling Yuji Naka’s baby. They simply need to get this game right. Graphically, these new screenshots show that while it’s definitely not a 360 or PS3 game, it’s making good use of what the Wii can do to make the game look great. Stylistically, the game looks magical. As for the control scheme, it’s hard to imagine a flying game where the remote controls your every move. (You have to put the controller down? Uh oh!) It’d be gestural at best, and unless SEGA could get such a scheme working to perfection, many fans would rather it not feel gimicky.
Regardless of the criticisms, most hands-on reviewers thus far say they like what they see and how the game plays. Check after the break for sixty new screens that show SEGA’s is definitely polishing the game to the best of their ability.
