Nintendo fans in Europe scrambled to collect money for their November budget after news stemming from this NeoGAF topic showed the GameFAQs release calendar placing Super Mario Galaxy and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the same release date. Super Mario Galaxy is likely still on track for November 16, but as far as I know, Mario & Sonic never was.
A trip to Sega’s European Press Vault seems to confirm a different release timeframe than the one posted on GameFAQs (and subsequently all over the gaming sites and blogs shortly after). Below, you can see for yourself that Sega is currently listing Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for “Xmas 2007,” well after the suspected mid-November date.
That’s not to say other great games will be coming out at the same time, of course. It’s better than getting double doses of Mario on the same day, though.
