Veterinarians find Wii remote in dog’s stomach
In Loveland, Colorado, the Becknell family brought their 3-year old Labrador Retriever to the vet when they noticed he was spitting up blood. X-rays showed a large mass in the stomach, which veterinarians provoked out of the dog using a teaspoon of Ipecac syrup. Out came some plastic chunks, and upon further massaging of the dog’s stomach, out flew the rest of the white Wii remote, which had become the dog’s chew toy.
“The Vet started massaging the dog’s belly and it just came flying out of the dog,” said Marie Becknell. “I knew what it was right away by the color and shape of it. It was my son’s video game remote. The dog had swallowed the boy’s Nintendo Wii remote controller.”
“The dog spent the night at the Vet and boy’s punishment for leaving the controller out was two weeks allowance to replace the Wii remote. The dog was fine but the remote had to be tossed.”
