Friday Night Concerts: Play! performs The Legend of Zelda

Four straight weeks (sorta) of Friday night Zelda music? What’s the occasion?

We’ve heard the Video Games Live performance of an original The Legend of Zelda arrangement before, and it’s a favorite among fans. Although not quite as well known, the medley that Play! A Video Game Symphony performs is just as moving, and while not as original as the VGL piece, the fact that the medley includes portions more true to their origins definitely makes this a worthy arrangement.

I’m starting to run out of concerts to show you guys on Fridays, so feel free to send some in that you’ve seen and I haven’t shown yet. Remember, the point of FNC is to bring you a musical concert experience (via embedded video) that takes you into a first class concert hall. It mixes the tradition of classical style bands, choirs, a cappella groups, orchestras, or even 20th century electronic set ups with the video games you know and love from today. Feel free to send videos my way and I’ll take a look!

I really enjoyed this one. My favourite game of the series is A Link to the Past, and the focus on it towards the end brought back great memories.
