Now’s your chance, Mother 3 for next to nothing

If anyone is sitting on the fence in regards to importing this game, sit no more. Play-Asia is offering the Japanese version for the low, low price of $14.95! Now I don’t want this post to slip into infomercial territory, but how can you resist a great game like this for 15 bucks? There’s at least one fan translation close to completion, so the fact that it’s in Japanese shouldn’t stop you. I’m torn on whether to buy this myself, mostly because I’ve never imported before. So how have your importing experiences been? Positive? Or horrifyingly bad?

Seriously, half of my DS collection are imports. Never a bad experience, and Play-Asia.com is a fantastic company.

As for Mother 3, it is seriously one of the best RPGs to ever grace ANY console – lone enough being on the GBA. It takes the insane and family/friend-driven motives from Earthbound and expands it in a whole new, beautifully told and illustrated story. The fight scenes are arranged much better, and the controls seriously couldn’t get friendlier… especially for someone who doesn’t normally play Role-Playing Games. For $15, that is a STEAL. If you don’t mind looking at a fan-translation as you play, then Mother 3 is a deal of a deal. A great addition to the Mother franchise.

yeah with the fan translatin its worth it cause, tbh it will be a long time if ever we see it released outside of japan. I have gottena few imports for my dreamcast and never had any trouble with them.

Interesting, so fan translation’s then: How do they work? Do you just read along? I wouldn’t mind it if it was done right. I’ll buy this game then. It seems like a fitting game to be my first import.

Michael, it is TOTALLY worth it. Especially at that price.
