If you see one of those CDs throughout the course of the game, grab it. Much like you collected trophies in Melee to view in your trophy gallery later, these CDs will allow you to add to your music collection in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. They may be one of the many new arrangements that we’re getting specifically for this Wii game, or they may be the original, unedited NES, SNES, etc. versions that we all know and love.
So what do we do with the music we collect? Well, you can listen to them in the new Sound Test-esque game mode in Brawl called “My Music.” In addition, you get some control over what songs play when you duke it out with your friends. Every franchise featured in Brawl will have several themes that could potentially play during a battle on that stage. For example, we have Delfino Plaza – a Mario stage. There are several songs from Super Mario games included in the game, and you’re allowed to go through the ones you’ve collected and adjust the likelihood that each song will be the one randomly chosen for a battle on that stage. Brawl has a huge list of musicians working on the game’s soundtrack, so you’re sure to get quite the selection!
