Xbox Live better than Wii Remote?

In an interview with Pro-G, Peter Molyneux, (famous video game director responsible for Black and White and Fable among others) stated that he felt that Microsoft’s online gaming service will have a greater impact on gaming than any other device or service.

All I can say is that Microsoft is an incredibly smart company and I never fail to be impressed by just how clever they are. Don’t forget this is the company which pioneered LIVE which I believe will ultimately be far more impactful on video games in the long term than something like the Wii controller.

    Even though XBox Live is the way that home consoles need to follow regarding online play, online play has been around for a long time with PC gaming. I disagree that XBox live has changed gaming to the same extend as the Wii Remote in terms of innovation and the future of gaming.

    Xbox live first off is a paid for online service, unlike the wii and ps3s online system which are free. Also lets not forget that xbox live on the original xbox was really piss poor, they seem to have gotten it right second time round though. Peter Molyneux is a complete sell out, hmm wow what a surprise he likes microsft the company that bought Lionhead what a shocker. Anyway wtf does his opinion matter for he hasn’t made a good game since black and white.

    Fable was a great game. Unfortunately it wasn’t the game he promised. He’s got a good head on his shoulders, but he lets his emotions rule his tongue.

    That’s why everyone and their mother want to interview him. :P

    IMO Peter Molyneux has a good idea of where the industry is going. Whenever I listen to him he seems to know exactly what I want in a game, and what I hate in games. Fable 2 is going to be more of what he promised of Alter Ego, the original codename for Fable.

    Don’t hate the guy because he works for Microsoft. He must have been playing a good multiplayer game on Xbox Live that day, as well as a bit of Red Steel. Which would explain his comments.

    Haha I don’t hate him for working for Microsoft as I like Microsoft. But its just a lot of the stuff that comes out of his mouth bugs me. Hey I’ll still play Fable 2 though.
