Japanese hardware sales, August 27-September 2

Drops almost everywhere, save for two platforms. The overall order didn’t change from the previous week, but the numbers are such that the only significant increase for the week ending September 2nd in Japan was for the Wii’s nearest rival, now closing in on half of what the Wii sold (as opposed to a fifth or a sixth). The DS saw a significant drop as well, bringing the handheld’s weekly sales in Japan under six digits for the first time in ages.

Of course, Japan’s coming off a holiday, and the big DS and Wii games for the season have yet to hit store shelves. When they do…
