Fire Emblem Wii given official English title

070826radiantdawn.jpgVarious sources are reporting that when Fire Emblem: Akatsuki no Megami comes to North America this fall, it will be titled Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. The game takes place three years after the events in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the GameCube, in which Ike must lead the Greil Mercenaries across the continent of Tellius in order to help Princess Elincia save the kingdom of Crimea against the oppression of King Ashnard and the Daein forces.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn joins several returning cast members three years after the events of the previous game. Daein is now under the rule and oppression of the Begnion Empire, and Crimean conspirators are attempting to overthrow Queen Elincia. The Laguz return as well as Sothe, Ike, and company make their way into the heart of Begnion and to the goddess atop the Guiding Tower.

While Fire Emblem games are generally grouped into duologies, Radiant Dawn will complete the first duology in the series for Western gamers, despite being the tenth game in the series overall. Fire Emblem for the Game Boy Advance was supposed to be a prequel to the previously released Fire Emblem: F?in no Tsurugi (aka Sword of Seals), but the game was never released on the Game Boy Advance anywhere outside of Japan. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn ships across North America starting November 5th.

  • Agrees with Christian.
  • Radiant Dawn is tied heavily to Path of Radiance. But that's it. Fire Emblem games are usually parts of duologies, and Radiant Dawn completes the fourth duology in the 10-entry franchise.

So I suggest you find and play Path of Radiance before diving into Radiant Dawn.
