So, I guess football players just don’t play Madden after all. After Thomas Jones ran off to the Jets in the off season, running back Cedric Benson has inherited the entire Bears’ running game this season. I was skeptical of this decision, but from the looks of things, Benson is making me eat my skepticism- and boy does it taste good.
If last week’s game was any indication, Benson is relishing his full control over the running game. Benson is running faster and harder. How hard? Just ask Texans safety Glenn Earl after Benson ended his season with a foot injury after an 11-yard run. Ouch.
Benson is looking so good, he has even earned the most coveted nickname of all time from his teammates, “Sonic the Hedgehog.”
”He gets that momentum going, and watch out,” fullback Jason McKie said. ”We call him ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ because he kind of runs like Sonic the Hedgehog. Full speed ahead.”
Just watch out for those injuries this season, because I really want to host another Super Bowl party. Please?
