Back in my day, we expected Japan to get all the games first, and we could expect the game a few months, not quite a year afterwards. You kids have it easy these days with these “America-first!” release dates or those newfangled “worldwide” launches.
According to the latest Famitsu magazine, however, Shigeru Miyamoto drops a few hints that Super Mario Galaxy might be released in the home country first, even though Nintendo is doing everything it can to get it out worldwide ASAP. Here’s the excerpt:
Now, we’re making games with hopes of making a simultaneous worldwide release. But, as it’s Japanese people making the game, and we’re making it in Japanese…right?
I won’t mind if Japan gets it on November 11th or something like that. Just so long as the game doesn’t get delayed over here, I’m sure we should be fine.
