Smash Bros. site updates with Pokémon Change
Pokémon Change is pretty much the single special move that Pokémon Trainer (Ash) uses to switch among Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. Each Pokémon has a completely independent moveset, so obviously there has to be a way to cycle through them. You know, Sonic Heroes-style.

Down+B initiates the Pokémon change, and it does so in a set order. You’ll have to keep that in mind and use it to your advantage if you want to win. Squirtle will be replaced by Ivysaur, who will be replaced by Charizard, who will be replaced by Squirtle, and so on. All three Pokémon use the same damage meter, so no, you can’t pull one out and expect to be fully healed. Gotta have a Full Restore for that, buddy (just kidding).
You control the Pokémon’s moves directly, so Ash will watch from the sidelines. From the sideline, though, you control which Pokémon is in the battle as described. Because you’re dealing with three Pokémon, you have the responsibility of a new stamina-like gauge. You don’t want to use the same Pokémon the entire time, and you don’t want to keep switching Pokémon every 2 seconds. They won’t like you for that. Don’t worry, though, as if you intend to use Ash (Pokémon Trainer), I’m sure you’ll have no trouble figuring out the whole system.
