Apparently the blue light on my Wii wasn’t to tell me about the new Metroid videos. I got two new messages. One was a The Tanooki reader messaging me to tell me he was typing using his new USB keyboard for use with the Wii. The other was a notice from Nintendo.

A new update for your Wii console is available!

This update will prevent your Wii console from locking up, which can occur when using the Internet Channel, if you press RESET on either your Wii console or within the HOME Menu. This update also corrects some Internet connection stability issues when using the Wii LAN Adapter from Nintendo.

Please press the Update button on the bottom-right to update your Wii console.

Good to know Nintendo will continually be fixing any issues found in conjunction with the Internet Channel. Also good to know that my LAN Adapter connection should be stable, since I’ll be using that connection exclusively starting Saturday. Go update your Wii!
