Konami’s associate product manager for Dewy’s Adventure, Ray Hiyoshi, doesn’t know quite why Dewy is what he is. The team behind Dewy’s Adventure is the same one behind the Wii launch title, Elebits. In fact, Dewy’s Adventure has been in development since well before Elebits began production.
Hiyoshi explain that the development team was a “socially responsible” group, with environmentally friendly themes running through both games. When asked specifically why players control a water droplet in the game, Hiyoshi had this to say:
That’s a good question, I actually don’t know why a water droplet. I mean they decided to make something that looked cute. I don’t know why the team came up with a water droplet to be honest with you.
