Metroid and Super Metroid heading to VC soon?
Super Metroid might be one of the greatest games of all time, but we haven’t heard from it since its original release some 13 years ago. With this whole next generation thing going on, I know I’m not the only one who has done some serious yearning for a bit of Super Metroid love on the Virtual Console. Well, thanks to a very crafty NeoGAF member, our yearning might have a happy ending.
The images for Metroid and Super Metroid have recently been uploaded to the US Virtual Console server. While this doesn’t guarantee that we will see either of these games next week, I have a feeling they will come sooner rather than later. Thank you, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption!

I’ve been waiting for this kind of announcement for a LONG time. Super Metroid is seriously one of the greatest games to ever grace a game system. It will be purchased as soon as possible… and beaten within a week.
I used to plow through the game as much as possible, but then I forgot where I put my SNES….
I borrowed a friend’s copy of the game and beat it twice before he wanted it back.. great game.
It’s been my #1 most wanted VC game since launch.
I’m still waiting on Super Mario RPG in the #1 most anticipated VC game department.. I still haven’t beaten it…
